PageCounty.net was started as a forum in 1997, but proved difficult to manage, and wound up with some nasty spam. It was redisigned as a blog, using WordPress, in 1998, but again failed to build a significant community. I have now removed all the posts from our initial attempt, in the hopes of rebuilding in the future.

However, the site has fulfilled its main purpose, which was to help bring local non-profits online, and specifically those which were actively promoting positive change in our community. Subdomains are still available for non-profits who fit our criteria. Organizations already helped by this site include The Gus Bus, Healthy Families, and our local chapter of Habitat for Humanity. There is also a subdomain for the summer musical at the BB&T Center for the Performing Arts, and now one for the budding Luray Arts Council.

As for this main site, please feel free to make suggestions as to how we can best use it to give value to our community.
