No. 1 Seed UVA to Face No. 16 Seed Hampton in NCAAs

uva sabresIt was announced Sunday (March 13) that Virginia (26-7) is the No. 1 seed in the Midwest Region. The Cavaliers will face No. 16 seed Hampton (21-10) in an NCAA Tournament first-round game played in Raleigh, N.C., at PNC Arena on Thursday, March 17. Actress Who Played ‘Scout’ in ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’ to Speak at Bridgewater College

scoutMary Badham, an actress best known for her portrayal of Jean Louise “Scout” Finch in To Kill a Mockingbird, will speak at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, in Cole Hall at Bridgewater College.

Badham was selected for the role of “Scout” at the age of 10 and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Continue reading

Blue Ridge Youth Theater Partners with Downtown Eateries; Announces Newest Fundraising Opportunity for Non-Profit  

Blue Ridge Youth TheaterOn Monday, February 22, 2016 the Blue Ridge Youth Theater board of directors announced partnership with two Downtown Luray restaurants which creates a unique fundraising opportunity for the non-profit community theater which operates Trackside Theater.  Locally owned Domino’s Pizza and longtime downtown staple Uncle Buck’s Restaurant are the first two of four to be named in what BRYT and the Trackside Theater are dubbing “Dining with the Trackside.”  Continue reading
